Refund & cancellation policy

Effective [EFFECTIVE DATE].

We recommend having this document reviewed by qualified legal and tax advisers for your jurisdiction before you rely on it.

This policy explains how to cancel your Everguardly subscription and when you are eligible for a refund. It applies to all paid plans operated by [LEGAL NAME] and should be read together with our Terms of Service.

Our online reseller Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle handles billing, invoicing, and refunds, so refunds are issued through Paddle’s systems to your original payment method.

1. Cancelling your subscription

You can cancel at any time from Settings → Billing in your dashboard, or by emailing [CONTACT EMAIL]. Cancellation stops future renewals; your plan remains active until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, after which your account moves to a free or read-only state. We do not delete your data immediately on cancellation—see our Privacy Policy for retention details.

2. Free trial

New accounts include a 14-day free trial. No charge is made during the trial, and you can cancel before it ends to avoid being billed. If you do not cancel, your selected plan begins at the end of the trial.

3. Refund eligibility

14-day refund window

If you are charged for a plan, you may request a full refund within 14 days of that charge for your first paid term. This covers both initial purchases and the first renewal into a longer (e.g. annual) term. Refunds are issued to your original payment method via Paddle.

After the 14-day window

After the 14-day window, payments for the current term are generally non-refundable, and cancellation simply stops the next renewal. We may, at our discretion, grant pro-rated or goodwill refunds—for example in cases of prolonged service unavailability or a billing error.

Statutory consumer rights

Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable refund or withdrawal rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country of residence. Where mandatory law grants you a longer cooling-off period, that period applies.

4. Upgrades, downgrades & proration

  • Upgrades take effect immediately; you are charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the current billing period.
  • Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing period; we do not refund the difference for the current period unless required by law.
  • Changing between monthly and annual billing applies at your next renewal unless you choose to upgrade immediately.

5. How to request a refund

Because Paddle is our Merchant of Record, refunds are processed through Paddle. To request a refund:

  • Email [CONTACT EMAIL] with your account email and the invoice or order reference, or
  • Use the “Contact” link on the Paddle receipt you received by email to reach Paddle’s buyer support directly.

Approved refunds are typically returned to your payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.

6. Contact

Questions about billing, cancellation, or refunds? Email [CONTACT EMAIL]. For payment-specific matters, Paddle provides customer service for all orders as Merchant of Record.
